1. Read the wordmark
Record the largest brand text before interpreting the background color or emblem.

A remembered blue pack, gold crest or capsule circle can narrow a search, but it cannot identify a product alone. Use this guide to combine visual clues with the exact wordmark, variant, printed value, format and retained package photograph.

Evidence order
Record the largest brand text before interpreting the background color or emblem.
Words such as Blue, Black Menthol, Dry Orange, Purple Burst or Original distinguish separate records.
Keep 1mg, 5mg, 8mg, 10mg or another displayed value with the name; color does not replace it.
Box, soft pack, slim, 100s, tin and sample-bag formats can separate visually similar products.
Use the location and shape of blue, green, red, gold, black, purple or white areas as supporting evidence.
Choose an exact page only when wording, number, format, layout and symbols agree with its retained image.
Color clues
| Remembered color | Useful next check | Do not assume |
|---|---|---|
| Blue or silver | Look for Blue, Lights, Extra Lights or another exact line word plus the printed number. | That every blue pack is the same strength or family. |
| Green | Read any Menthol, Mint, Change or other visible wording. | A specific ingredient, capsule or sensory result from color alone. |
| Black or charcoal | Check Original, Black, Black Menthol, Casual or another complete name. | That all dark packs belong to Black Devil or one brand. |
| Gold, red or orange | Compare wordmarks, crests, bands and exact variant text. | A universal strength level across brands. |
| Purple or pink | Retain Burst, Berry, Option, Fusion or other photographed words when present. | A flavour or capsule construction that the source does not state. |
| White | Use the position of logos, line text, numbers and border colors. | That a mostly white pack is automatically a light variant. |
Symbol clues
One or two circles can support a capsule-family comparison, but exact words such as Burst, Double Burst, Fusion or Change still matter.
Stars, a printed number and a brand wordmark should be read together; none is unique across the whole catalog.
Gold crests or seal-like graphics can narrow a candidate set but should be checked against the exact linked product image.
Scenic artwork is useful only when the surrounding brand, variant and market-version wording also matches.
Photo-linked examples
Use the Mevius wordmark, Blue name, printed 6 and complete pack layout—not blue alone.
Black Menthol, the Seven Stars identity and printed 8 distinguish this photographed record.
Dry Orange is exact wording; orange graphics by themselves are not enough.
Purple Burst, JP Version and printed 5 remain part of the full identifying string.
